EDUCATIONAL – SOCIAL – MEDICAL EVENTS

 

Like every year, thanks to the partnership of Morocco Foundation and a better tomorrow; we organize multiples solidarity caravans to help in rural areas.

This caravans can have different focus:

  • School caravans : School renovation, school supply, winter clothes ….
  • Rural caravans : Medical caravans, food baskets, clothing

·      School caravans

The issue of school dropout remains a significant problem, particularly in rural areas where schools often lack adequate resources and conditions that would encourage parents to continue their children’s education. Therefore, rehabilitating schools has become a priority.
In this regard, the caravans organized by our partnership target school groups and institutions located in remote villages in the mountainous regions. Schools serve as a vital gathering place for children and the broader community, acting as a tool for advancing the entire village.
Before implementing the caravan, we engage in several exchanges with teachers, parents, and school administrators to evaluate the state of the school, including classrooms and toilets. We work together to develop an action plan for renovation or repair, and organize trips to the site to ensure that we can accurately estimate the necessary resources.
Our goal is to leverage the school’s ecosystem and community involvement to ensure the success and longevity of our initiatives. By providing ongoing support beyond the initial caravan, we can guarantee long-term improvements for the school group.
Usually the caravan targets 500 to 1 500 Students of a school group.Every school group is composed of 3 to 6 schools in the area / close villages. The association contribution can be in different combined forms during the year :  

✅ Material contribution

A material contribution to give children the necessary school supplies they need during the school year, to motivate and encourage them to complete their studies; as all children should have.

  • New clothing packs composed of : parka, pair of boots, pair of gloves, hat, socks and scarf. A new clothing packs cost approximatively 250MAD 
  • New schoolbags + School supplies (notebooks, pens, slates, chalks, … )      The bag & supplies cost 100 to 150 MAD
  • Equipment for teachers: offices, cupboards, supplies (paper…..)
  • Books for children / Library installation

✅ School Renovation contribution

The school renovation caravans help maintain the establishment in good condition, strengthen the structures, secure and refresh the classerooms so that the pupils and teachers can work sheltered from the cold and in good conditions all year round.

  • Heavy renovations: Roof fixing, walls renovation, new doors, new heaters.
  • Furnishings of classrooms: Furniture, study tables, chairs, tables, ..), posters, clock, decoration. ….
  • Cleaning, painting and repair (windows, doors, roof, plaster, chimney…)
  • Installation and construction of sanitary facilities for students
  • Room layout / decoration for nurseries

Generally and most of the times, the accompaniment of the school group is done throughout the year in the following way :

  • The school renovation is done usually during summertime, while the school is closed.
  • The school supply caravans is organized at the start of the school year in September / October
  • The winter clothes caravans happens when it start getting cold in December 15, 2022
  • In Spring and/ or a the end of year school, visits can be scheduled to install library, computers room, organizes end of year party with gifts for best students, teachers …

·      Rural caravans :

The association take advantage of the fact of intervening at the level of certain villages and mountainous regions within the framework of school caravans to plan and organize others types of caravans such as:

  • the distribution of food baskets but also the distribution of warm clothes and blankets to the families in need.
  • The renovation and layout of Dar Attalib’ internship : bunk bed, mattress, closets , blankets….
  • Medical caravans
  • Sponsoring and bringing annual stocks of food for the boarding school canteens

✅ Medical Caravans :

The objective of organizing these “medical caravans” is to provide consultations, medical examinations and free quality care to the poorest populations, who are often located in remote rural areas. The first target remains the children of the school groups, but also and sometimes the local population.

These caravans will be organisez in partnership with medical associations. They are provided via a specialized mobile medical unit (dental, ophthalmological….) with the intervention of medical teams (doctors and volunteers) provided with the necessary equipment and medication.  We will thus be able to go from simple prevention to the management of sometimes urgent situations!
